This week's PhotoHunt theme is near.
When we came across this big guy crossing the road on Kangaroo Island I knew I didn't want to get too near, since Tiger Snakes are venomous.
This is the thread that ties the reflections, stories, adventures and passions of a Nuevo Mexicana who arrived in the Land Down Under via southern Spain.
OMG, Maya! You seem to see more than your fair share of snakes in Australia!
ReplyDeleteHere in Hong Kong, I average a snake spotting every 10 hikes or so. Most recently, I saw a pretty big one (I'd say it was about 3 meters long). Literally stopped with a start and started sweating like crazy. My hiking companion, OTOH, RAN towards the snake as she wanted photos of it!!! :O
Yikes! I run into snakes sometimes here in NC but not poisonous ones. Great take on the "near" theme!
ReplyDeleteHi Maya, Yikes! I'm so afraid of these guys. Great photo and take on this week's theme. I seem to be like you, although I'm afraid to be even remotely close, I'll still whip out my camera for a shot. :)
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend.
Nice photo and great take on the theme. I don't know if I could have held my camera still enough to get a shot !! Happy weekend.
ReplyDeleteYTSL, I do seem to see a lot of snakes here in Oz! I put in over 1000 miles in New Mexico and never say one, but here I have seen several dozen.
ReplyDeleteAnnie, there are lots of poisonous ones here and more often than not they are venomous.
Kathy, I used to get too close when we first got here--but then I learned just how dangerous they are. Also, some of them can be very aggressive.
Sandra, my husband didn't even want me to roll down the window for the shot since the guy was so big!
