This is the thread that ties the reflections, stories, adventures and passions of a Nuevo Mexicana who arrived in the Land Down Under via southern Spain.
This memorial is for the horses which took part in the Great War from 1914-1918. It is located in Adelaide's Central Business District on the corner of East Terrace and Botanic Road. It was enveiled January 30, 1923.
Hi Kathy. I was going to go with a different picture but realized I had already blogged about it. I just happened to notice this Memorial outside the bus window last week, so ran out yesterday to take a photo! Hope you enjoy your long weekend.
My journey began 6 years ago, when I married my partner of 10 years. 3 days later he left to start a new job in southern Spain. I joined him 6 months later, for what I thought would be a year. A year quickly turned into 5. On New Year's Eve 2008, Mark asked me where I wanted to ring in 2009. Off the top of my head I said Sydney. In May we were packing our bags and heading to a new job Down Under. These are the stories of our ex-pat adventures. To learn more about me see my posts under lamaya.
Hi Maya, that's a great photo and choice for this week's memorial theme. That's so cool that they built this wonderful memorial. Have a great week.

ReplyDeleteThat's a wonderful memorial Maya and how important horses were in those days, even in war. Still are in Australia even now, if just for racing.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I am an expat Australian, living in Canada for a very long time. Glad you popped by to visit my PH.
